Joe Woods has been a member of the Harford County Council representing District B since 2009. Joe is a lifelong resident of Harford County and has lived his entire life in Fallston. Joe has been an active member of the community since an early age. He joined the Fallston Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company in 1994, rising to the rank of Fire Chief in 2008. Joe and his wife Laura are small business owners and he has served the citizens of Harford County as a Deputy with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office; a firefighter; a member of the Harford County Technical Rescue Team; and he has served on both state and federal Urban Search and Rescue Teams including FEMA. His lifetime of public safety service has afforded Joe opportunities and experiences that have fashioned him into a honorable and dedicated leader. Joe has received many local, state, national, and international awards and recognition for his leadership rolls in public safety and community service.
On the Harford County Council, Joe has served on dozens of committees and is the current Maryland Association of Counties liaison representing the Harford County Council in Annapolis during the Maryland General Assembly 90 day legislative session. Joe has been a champion for small business, smaller government, and property rights within Harford County. He has consistently worked for the people by keeping taxes low; fighting for public safety and our education system; and by eliminating over regulation whenever possible.
